WELCOME
In recent years, lots of developments on the microscopy
techniques to characterise materials at nano and microscale are taking place.
On the other hand, ceramic materials are increasingly used in different
areas thanks to the new developments in the field. To understand their
existing performance and to develop them further, new microscopy techniques
are needed to be largely employed in the field of ceramics. Therefore, the
aim of the school is:
(i) to bring the young and experienced scientists working on the microscopy
of ceramics from different countries together,
(ii) to teach the scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron
microscopy (TEM), scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) and
sample preparation techniques and
(iii) then to give them opportunity to present their recent studies during
the workshop.
The following benefits will be gained by the
participants:
(i) Students will increase their abilities on the understanding of the basic
and new developments on the electron microscopy of ceramics
(ii) Students from different countries will will come together to establish
hopefully long term scientific contacts and collaborations (iii) Students and well-known scientist will come
together to share their expertise and disscuss the results of young
scientist
